An online seminar for all your teachers
January 22-26, 2001
Help your teachers improve their skills. Relevant to new and experienced
teachers of adults, regardless of the subject they are teaching. Just in time
for your fall classes and courses.
With the magic of the Internet, now your teachers can learn from the foremost
authority on lifelong learning, William A. Draves, author of the best selling
book "How to Teach Adults."
The course is relevant for any person teaching a class, seminar, or course
in-person.
Here's how it works.
The text from each day, which will not only include presentation information but
questions and discussion from participants, will be available the following days
as well. This means everything that was presented or discussed can be printed or
downloaded the next day as well so if you miss a day, the information will still
be available to you and this is true all the way to the end of seminar.
We recommend spending at least 2 hours per day online.
You should have Real Audio to hear the presentations, and can download Real Audio for free at http://www.realaudio.com.
Then your teachers can ask Mr. Draves
questions and also share ideas with other teachers in our chat rooms.
Here are some of the topics to be discussed:
1.) How adults learn
2.) Helping adults learn
3.) Preparing courses
4.) Measuring results
5.) Discovering your participants
6.) Involving your participants
7.) Varying your teaching techniques
8.) Energizing the learning environment
9.) Evaluations
10.) Learning in the 21st century
Recommended Reading.
To maximize the benefits of the course, your teachers should read "How to
Teach Adults" by William A. Draves. The online seminar will follow the
chapters in the book.
