William A. Draves, CAE, is a consultant, speaker, author and President and CEO of the Learning Resources Network (LERN), a North American association with 5,000 members in Canada and the United States.

In 1998 he and his senior management dismantled the headquarters office and allowed staff to move wherever they
wanted. Ten years later, his association has doubled revenue, increased surplus, and tripled reserves.

He and co-author Julie Coates documented the transition in the book “Nine Shift: work, life and education in the 21st century.” The BBC calls Nine Shift “Fascinating.”

With 25 staff and consultants in 8 states, one Canadian province, and India, he can show you how to plan the transition from an office based association to a virtual association.
