We are entering our marketing branding digital effort which is called UpFront. This digital publication fist came into being in 2010, and we are entering the 2011 series of three digital publications, or the fall 2011 edition if it makes more sense to single one out. This digital publication was developed to further brand the College as an expert provider of information to targeted business, corporate and individual markets, thereby positioning us at the chosen provider when folks are deciding on continuing education options in San Diego. Its main purpose is brand enhancement, not enrollment generation. We not only involved instructors and students as subjects of the material produced, but we involved them in actually writing some of the stories. In the way, they are proud to share the publication with their viral and social media outlets. Each edition has averaged 60 hits from our web site, and a promotional email message that we send out; and acts as an excellent adjunct piece to our printed/ digital catalog, leading to actual registrations. Additionally, the piece has positioned the College of Extended Studies as a leader in marketing internally as San Diego State University, which is very important to the College’s management. The Dean of the college of extended Studies has received congratulatory messages from his boss, The Provost, and other Deans at the University on the development of the piece.
